Training Development Manager

Location: Bury Office (Temporarily Remote)

Job Purpose

As we build our software solutions the Training Manager role will play a key part in shaping our training strategy.  You will identify suitable tools and build content to support digital learning, delivering content both for our customers as well as our internal teams.  RTC is investing now, for our continued success into the future and this new role forms part of that strategy.

  • The overarching objective is to deliver RTC Automotive Solutions products and services effectively and efficiently generating a financial return to meet the budget and forecasts within the geographical area of responsibility.
  • To oversee the delivery of the products and services to our customers both internally and externally.
  • To ensure that all opportunities for existing or new training products and services will be of benefit to our clients and provide a profit opportunity for the business are recognised and reported.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Stakeholder Management

  • Personally, manage senior stakeholder interactions and develop appropriate and effective relationships at all levels.
  • Manage the communication process with stakeholders to ensure that they are informed of project progress and activities.
  • Network within RTC to determine best practice and building of knowledge to inform changes to Training products and consultancy.
  • Assess training sales opportunities early in a client services cycle and take appropriate action with the client services and sales management team.

Business Development

  • Manage the training business development process to deliver against the business development projects and targets that support client implementations.
  • Evaluate and evolve training delivery methods physical, remote, and digital.
  • Create a market for training products and services to clients.
  • Work alongside wider team to optimise training revenue with each client and ensure that every opportunity for additional products and services is explored.
  • Manage the proposal and lead negotiation on large scale training opportunities.
  • Proactively meet with major clients post sale to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluating, recommending, and implementing new tools to support digital learning.

Design/Delivery/Evaluation

  • Manage the process for design and delivery of training products and services.
  • Manage the process of evaluation and measurement of outputs from training interventions and follow the internal processes to provide feedback.
  • Oversee the maintenance and updating of materials for ongoing training product development.
  • Personally, deliver training as and when required to achieve performance objectives.

Resource Management

  • Regularly review training forecasts pipeline and delivery strategies with the operations director, Internal and external management teams.
  • Maintain resources & materials associated with delivery of training, consultancy, or project management in conjunction with the wider team.

Performance Management

  • Consistently review training delivery against performance and expectations.
  • Ensure that personal productivity meets the requirements of the business.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Manage the reporting and analysis of training activity to ensure that the team effectively follow required reporting processes.
  • Report on outputs from all areas of Academy delivery and activity.

Process Compliance

  • Adhere to relevant process for sign off and commitment from clients prior to delivery of services or consultancy.
  • Ensure the delivery schedules and support activities are aligned with commitment to clients and managed appropriately.

Person Specifications

  • Experience of delivering and developing training programmes face to face and/or remotely using digital technologies.
  • Fully IT literate in using a range of Microsoft Office programmes to include 365 products such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as modern web-based tools.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders as well as working well with the wider teams towards a common goal.
  • Have good oral, written and presentation skills with the ability to organise and present material in an easily understood manner.
