QA Test Automation Engineer

Location: Bury Office

Job Purpose

As we build our new solutions the QA Test Automation Engineer role will play a key part in shaping the test and QA strategy to ensure quality in an Agile environment. RTC is investing now, for our continued success into the future and this new role forms part of that strategy.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Defining, influencing, and delivering all aspects of the software quality strategy
  • Providing leadership, technical guidance and support to the Product and Development Teams
  • Recommending new frameworks/tools
  • Partnering with the Product Manager to build test strategies and make commitments on quality.
  • Be professional, organised, and always represent the company in the best way possible

Person Specifications

  • ISTQB Foundation certified
  • 2-4 years’ experience in Testing
  • A good understanding o the software development life cycle
  • Proven experience of Test Automation
  • Experience writing, reviewing, and executing test automation scripts.
  • Previous experience of testing C#.Net and Web applications and APIs
  • Proven experience leading testing in an agile setting
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders as well as working well with the wider teams towards a common goal.
  • Possess great problem-solving skills.
  • Have good oral, written and presentation skills with the ability to organise and present technical material in an easily understood manner.
  • Open and approachable
  • Determination to reach an end goal and work through challenge.
  • Proactive approach to own personal development

Desirable

  • Understanding of JIRA or similar bug tracking and project management software
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure technical stack
  • Microsoft 365 Applications and tools
